Left out of Point O’ Pines boat launch boat launch in Moss Point, MS under windy and cloudy conditions. Water conditions in the Mississippi Sound were rather turbid, but Van Clark, Joe Gonzalez and I managed to land two nice tripletails a.k.a. “blackfishâ€, one large flounder, 30 or more white trout, and a 3-pound Spanish mackerel. Caught the white trout at the mouth of Bang’s Lake to the north of Bayou Cumbest on fresh dead squid. The white trout bite was slow and not very aggressive, so we bottom fished with size 4 4X Strong Gamakatsu Treble Hooks to increase hook ups on the soft bites.
