 Duck Hunting Report – December 3, 5 (Sunday & Tuesday), 2006
Took Shawn Henderson out of New Orleans, LA on a trophy bird hunt Sunday and Tuesday. In his quest for diving duck mounts, Shawn ended up bagging a couple of nice drake redheads, a pair of lesser scaups, as well as a gorgeous drake bufflehead. Shawn was a hard-core hunter and a pleasure to hunt with. Hey, he drove over from New Orleans each morning to make the hunts! Sunday we hunted off the shoreline, but Tuesday I placed him in a layout boat well into the Mississippi Sound. Shawn said that was one of the best duck hunting trips he’s experienced, and the layout boat an amazing way to hunt. Shawn said that state champion taxidermist Kevin Hynes of “Wildlife Classics†504-646-0707 out of Slidell, LA will perform the work on his mounts. Shawn, congratulations on some magnificent birds! Oh yeah…Tuesday the redheads swarmed!
