Biloxi, MS – Hot Inshore Fishing Action…Over 600 Fish Caught And/Or Released This Week!

This has been a phenomenal week for light tackle inshore fishing aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. My hands have been cut, finned, scraped, punctured, and I’ve enjoyed ever minute of it. Been on the water 5 of 7 days last week and the bite was outstanding. Back on Friday took Seth Harris of Bay Springs, MS, a young boy battling leukemia. He and his family boated 130 white trout and ground mullet in an hour and a half. Could not have caught fish any faster than that!

Above: In an hour and a half, Seth and family boated over 130 fish.

On Saturday had the Randy Bell group, and these three gentlemen boated 116 white trout and ground mullet, 4 big specks, and a fine flounder by noon. More outstanding nonstop fish catching fun. These groups had never experienced such fast fish catching, and went home with plenty of fillets for some big fish fries.

Back out on the water again on Sunday, and this time my longtime comeback client John Noel of Jackson, MS and his good friend Jimmy Childress, put the  hammer on the fish once again. Had to drag them away from the biting fish, and they ended up with 153 white trout and ground mullet, as well as 4 speckled trout. Throughout all of these trips there was much catch and release, especially since many of the white trout were those big “yellow-mouth” specimens.

It’s easy to see the inshore bottom fishing is on fire right now, and if you want to enjoy a morning of fast fish catching action now is the time to get aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. These family groups have really been enjoying these trips, so gather up the kids and let’s go fishing. I would like to again thank everyone this week for supporting TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and your company on the water was a delight.

Remember…life is short…let’s fish!

Biloxi, MS – Katrina Reef & Mississippi Sound Full Of Fish!

Today was another wonderful day of fishing on the Mississippi Sound. Got to the Katrina Reef early, and my group immediately got into the fish catching action. And just like the day before, plenty of big fat “yellow-mouth” sand sea trout a.k.a. “white trout” and southern kingfish a.k.a. “ground mullet” were there to bend the St. Croix “Triumph” rods.

  012

Fresh squid was the key to such relentless fish catching, and the group composed of Randy Bell of San Diego, California, his son Yuki, and nephew Jerry proceeded to enjoy great light tackle fishing. They caught and released fish until their arms ached, and left the fat trout biting around noon.

015

The finally tally for fish boxed was well over 100 white trout and ground mullet, 4 big speckled trout, and a beautiful flounder. These white trout were really beautiful with most of the keepers running from 13 to 15-inches in length. This great group of anglers followed me home where we proceeded to clean and package their bounty from the Mississippi Sound.

003

Yes, it was a bit rough today with poor water conditions, but these fine anglers still managed to fill a 5-gallon bucket full of tasty fillets. The new 2008 2170 Blazer Bay make this fine catch possible, a stable fishing platform when the seas get rough. Looks like a fish fry in the making tomorrow! Folks, these tasty bottom dwellers are there for the taking, and make for a great family outing. So come join me aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS for the catch of your life. Hey, and take your kids, they will love you for it!

Biloxi, MS- Young Angler Enjoys Special Day

Today was a special day to be fishing in south Mississippi, and it just wasn’t because the fishing was on fire. You see, today I had the privilege to donate a fishing trip to a very special 11-year-old boy. His name is Seth Harris of Bay Springs, MS and a year ago on this day he was diagnosed with leukemia.

  001

Rhonda Parker, Seth’s aunt, set it up as a surprise, and she wanted Seth to have a special day on the anniversary date of the terrible diagnosis.  Seth is an avid outdoorsman, and  would rather spend his time fishing or hunting than in front of a computer. In the last year he has fought this terrible disease like a champ, and today he would fish like a champ too.

005

So here is how it went down today. Left the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor a little after 7 o’clock in the morning, and an hour and a half later this fine group of people boxed 130 white trout and ground mullet. As fast as they could cast out and reel in the fish were being landed. Of course Seth got into the swing of things early, and put the hammer down on some beautiful white trout.

007

Of course Chad and Dawn, Seth’s parents, were in on the action too, along with Rhonda and Emilee Parker, Seth’s aunt and cousin. My hands are still aching from taking off so many fish so fast, but it was worth it to let Seth and his wonderful family enjoy such an experience. In just a little over an hour this group boxed over 130 of the fine eating fish, and with Seth starting to feel the heat we headed back to the harbor with an incredible catch. Getting back to the dock before 9 o’clock was ideal, especially with this extreme heat we’ve had to deal with lately.

Would like to thank that entire wonderful family for setting this up for Seth, a true sportsman. Again, it was an extreme pleasure to be able to do this for such a brave young man. To find out more about Seth visit his web site at www.caringbridge.org/visit/sethharris. Seth is battling an extremely serious disease like a real trooper, along with thousands of other children every day. So please keep Seth and all the other children in your hearts and prayers.

Regards,

Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS
