On this trip we started out on one of the white trout reefs and easily put 25 in the box, it could have been another fish on ever cast outing, but John had bigger and better fish on his mind.
Thus, it was a run out to the barrier islands, and there the Florida pompano were rounded up. Hey, we fished long and hard this day, but the guys efforts paid off with 20 big, beautiful, and delicious Florida pompano.
One of the biggest fish actually free-jumped into John’s lap and then into the boat, another of John’s fish hit him in the chest, and another hooked fish went airborne landing in the net in my hands.
Have to admit these fish were jumping like crazy, and even the ladyfish and bluefish seemed to be leaping more than usual. Well, the daily Florida pompano record for this year aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS is now 20, easily surpassing the mark of 12 caught back in June.

If you’ve never experienced pompano fishing, well, you are missing out on a fun experience, and here aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS fishing for these delicious exotics is a speciality. It’s not always a numbers game, and it generally takes a lot of patience, but high-leaping ladyfish and bluefish take up the slack between pompano catching.
By the way, big jack crevalles were patrolling the shallow flats too, and John caught and released a prime specimen, a 35-pound brute on light spinning gear. If you think bull reds fight, well, hook into one of these big jacks for an unforgettable light tackle experience. After about a 35-minute battle with this fish, well, they were sure an encounter with one was enough for the day.
What can I say, I’ve got plenty of openings, and just waiting for you guys and gals to step aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and make fishing catching memories of your own. Remember, we have great year-round fishing, but September and October are two top-notch months to be fishing in south Mississippi.

By the way, this has been a banner year for TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and would like to thank everyone for their business, as well as wonderful times spent fishing together so far this season.
By any stretch of the imagine don’t think the best fishing has come and gone, for late summer, fall, and winter provide excellent light tackle opportunities too. Also, I have some night fishing options available, so ask me about fishing after sundown as well.
Regards and many thanks to all,
