Biloxi Mississippi Charter Boat Fishing – More Big Speckled Trout Top-Water Action Aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS

PRICES: Aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS you’ll be able to fish 1 to 4 anglers at a very reasonable price. A  long 5-hour half-a-day trip goes for $350, and an 8-hour all-day trip is $450. It’s a great deal, especially considering ice, bait, tackle, fuel, MS fishing license, and fish cleaning is included in that price. Divide those prices up among 4 anglers, and it’s dirt cheap for a fun filled fishing trip. BILOXI, MISSISSIPPI FISHING - 2170 Blazer Bay - Photo By Capt. Robert L. Brodie

Now back to Capt. Brodie’s fishing report…

A reply from Harvey McGehee…

Capt. Brodie,

Thanks for all your hard work yesterday afternoon in wind, rain, and murky waters putting me on 5 mule trout on a short half day charter.  I guess they weighed close to 20 pounds. You gave me a choice of fishing an easy limit schooling trout or fishing for the big boys. Needless to say, I made the right choice. I consider trout like those Boone & Crockett. All mine were well over 20 inches and fat hogs. Can’t wait for you to e-mail me the last one I caught at 5:15. She was suitable for wall hanging. I will recommend you to anyone.

Harvey McGehee,

Clinton, MS

Today there would be no fishing for black drum, sheepshead, and white trout because Harvey McGehee only wanted to tangle with big speckled trout. And although we got a late start and the bite was slow, Harvey got to experience the excitement of watching big speckled trout smash top-water plugs slowly worked across the surface.

It’s really a great experience, especially when these big-shouldered trout smash the bait, and then start to quickly strip off line.  Often they will strike at the bait a couple of times before making good contact with the dangling treble hooks.

It was all top-water action, and the big specks were smashing the MirrOlure She Dogs as they flittered across the surface. Although we got a late start today and the bite was off, well, I think most anglers would be happy with such quality trout, 5 in all. Photo by Capt. Robert L. Brodie

ABOVE: Although we got a late start today, and only five fish were boated, Harvey McGehee had a ball landing these hefty speckled trout. Hey, who wouldn’t take 5 of these fish on any given outing. Watching these big specks smash a top-water bait is well worth the effort of casting the top-water plugs for a couple of hours.  Photo by Capt. Robert L. Brodie

By the way, Harvey was a great gentleman to fish with, and I could tell he was impressed with the size of the trout and their aggressive nature when it came to engulfing the artificial baits. This sort of fishing isn’t a big numbers game, but an excellent way to catch some impressive trout.

But don’t fret, the white trout, black drum, and sheepshead are still there for the taking if you want a bite or fish on practically every cast.  Hey, here in beautiful south Mississippi it’s all good, so come on down and catch your share of the briny ones.

Regards and many thanks to all,

Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS

LATE EVENING BIG TROUT BITE ABOARD "TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS"

PRICES: A half-a-day trip (5-hours) goes for $350, and an all-day trip (8-hours) goes for $450. Ice, bait, tackle, fuel, MS fishing license, and fish cleaning is included in that price. It’s a great deal, and those prices can be divided between 4 anglers. Remember, TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS is a year-round bay, nearshore, and barrier island light tackle guide service, and prides itself on being polite, professional, and productive.

Now back to Capt. Brodie’s latest fishing report…

This was a late evening fishing trip, and it turned out to be a good one. All of our fishing was conducted tossing top-water baits, and the surface explosions were fantastic. Although we only boxed 10 fish, well, we were tickled to death because we easily lost twice that many. These fish would knock the baits 3-feet into the air at times, and often crash the baits at boat side. Good stuff!

Had calm seas, and clean water, the two conditions to conduct such fishing.  By the way, birds were working in the Biloxi Bay, and plenty of white trout and school specks were dining on live shrimp below. Right now, popping corks and live shrimp will produce all of the fish catching action one’s heart desires. And the black drum and sheepshead, well, they are there for the taking too. By the way, these big specks will be around for a while, but the conditions do have to be right. Want a crack at the big trout? Book a trip and we’ll test you luck and casting skills.

Got plenty of openings from here on out, and with the bay fishing on fire, well, just pick you a day and we’ll have fun, and catch a mess of fish doing so. If the weather cooperates I have some clients that may take a shot at the Florida pompano tomorrow. Until next report keep it safe out there and good fishing!

Black Drum, White Trout, and Sheepshead Made For A Fun Day Of Angling Aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS

TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS offers 5-hour half-a-day trips for $350, and all-day 8-hour trips for $450. These prices can be divided up among 4 anglers, and that’s a great deal. Ice, bait, tackle, fuel, MS fishing license, and fish cleaning is all included in the price. If the heat of summer has been keeping you off the water, well, now the time to enjoy fishing in this cool fall weather while the inshore fishing is on fire. At TEAM BRODIE CHARTER it’s always a priority to be polite, professional, and productive.

Now back to Capt. Brodie’s fishing report…

Once again my good friend Andy Sanders from Kosciusko, MS was back for more light tackle fishing fun aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and this time he brought more friends that included Ben Burns and his 9-year-old daughter Abi. After this trip they admitted they were spoiled, but hey, with a bite or fish on practically every cast, well, that’s bound to happen.

Started out the morning on the drum and sheepshead honey holes, and the bite was hot. Live shrimp and my favorite sheepshead and drum rigs were deadly on the bottom dwellers, and in no time the live well was filled with fish. Some of these sheepshead were really nice specimens, and more and more of these bigger fish are moving in as the weather begins to cool down.

ABOVE: From Kosciusko, MS, Andy Sanders, Ben Burns, and his daughter Abi enjoyed a fun filled day of fish catching aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. The take home catch included 105 beautiful white trout, 17 sheepshead, 1 speckled trout, 2 ground mullet, and 20 plus black drum.

After I pulled them out of the sheepshead and drum holes it was off to the shallow white trout reefs. There, popping corks and live shrimp started off the action, and it was frantic fishing once again. Ben was standing up on the back platform really getting into it, and all were having a ball popping those corks, and then watching them take the plunge.

After a while Abi’s hands hurt from reeling, and soon she got into the act of taking off and transferring fish to the ice chest. She was a great help, and really got into the boxing of fish. Once they quickly finished off the live shrimp we went to cut bait, and the fish catching was just as steady. A nice speck and a couple of ground mullet were added to the fish catch too.

After I pulled them out of the white trout the guys and gal had boxed 105 of the tasty bottom dwellers.  It ended up being another fantastic day of good old fashioned bay fishing, and the group simply had a blast. Once the smoke cleared the final take home catch included 105 white trout, 17 sheepshead, 20-plus black drum, 2 ground mullet, and a nice speckled trout.

Back at the D’Iberville Marina’s fish cleaning table it was a joint effort on cleaning the fish, and in no time all of the fish were ready for more fish fries back in Kosciusko.  Andy loves catching those white trout on popping corks, and said he would be happy just doing that all day long for all he cared. Hey, who could blame him for many of these white trout are big as a legal speckled trout, eat just as good if not better, and there is no limit on these plentiful fish.

By the way Andy, I can’t thank you enough for making my job such an enjoyable day on the water. You and your friends are always a pleasure to fish with, and I am glad the fish always seem to cooperate for you guys.  Oh yeah, and thank you for the Team Brodie Charters stickers too, I am finding many uses for them.

Listen fishing fanatics, if you’ve been wanting to get out on the water and have a fun filled day of fishing now is definitely a good time to do so. The bite has been quite consistent, and if you want your kids to have a great time with plenty of action now would be a good time to get them aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. Fish are biting and the weather is finally comfortable for fishing, two good ingredients for great family fishing fun.

Got plenty of openings now, and we don’t have to run far to be catching fish. Thus, weather conditions aren’t that much of a concern, and you spend practically all of your time on the water wetting a line. So come on down and put this full-time guide to work! The fish here in south Mississippi are just waiting to be caught!

Regards and many thanks to all,
