Despite Threating Weather TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS Got To Fish The Weekend With Fun Clients
PRICING: Half-a-day (5-hours) trips aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS are merely $350, and all-day trips (8-hours) go for $450. In this economy those are extremely reasonable prices, and ice, bait, tackle, fuel, rods & reels, Mississippi fishing licenses, fish cleaning & packaging, as well as a big dose of southern hospitality is included in the price. You simply walk on and off the boat. It’s that easy! Better yet, TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS can carry up to 4 anglers, and when you split those prices up amongst 4 anglers, well, that’s dirt cheap. Capt. Robert L. Brodie was born and raised on the shores of the Back Bay of Biloxi, has fished these waters for 50-years, and is an accomplished awarding-winning outdoor writer and photographer. By the way, TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS offers big water diving duck hunts on the Mississippi Sound, and those trips usually start the day after Thanksgiving Day. To book a trip simply call Capt. Brodie at (228) 697-7707 or shoot him an e-mail at email hidden; JavaScript is required .
NOW BACK TO CAPT. BRODIE’S FISHING REPORTS…
Got both of the weekend trips in despite threating weather conditions, and have to admit the bite was slow for some reason. Really thought the fish would be biting better with the storm in the Gulf of Mexico, but it just didn’t happen. Never the less, my clients caught a mess of fish and had great fun doing so. On Saturday, both Mike Selvester and Barry Baughman from Jackson, MS were laid back guys and great fun to fish with even on a slow bite. However, each of the men got to battle a hard fighting black drum, and Mike caught and released a real bruiser. Hope to get these gentlemen back again on a better day of fishing. Thanks guys it was a pleasure!
On Sunday I had a return client from Georgia, Jim Swittenburg, and he and his son Johnny fished in the rain and boxed about 20 fine white trout and ground mullet, but the stormy weather cut the trip short. With lighting all around we played it safe and got back to the dock. Tomorrow Jim and his son will be back aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and we’ll do some catch and release for redfish and drum. Jim very seldom takes home any fish, and is perfectly happy with catch and release or donating his catch to me and my neighbors. Jim is an excellent angler, and has been on many top-notch fishing adventures aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS including the Louisiana marsh.
The Mississippi Sound is now open to catch and release, and hopefully all of our waters will be back to catch and keep real soon. The waters are clean and clear, oil free, full of baitfish, and August through October are some of the best months of the year to fish in south Mississippi. Got plenty of openings in August so book your light tackle fishing trip now aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS.
Throughout all of this oil spill mess TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS has been catching and keeping fish consistently, never went to work for BP, and has worked harder than ever to keep the age old fish catching process of the Deep South going strong. Remember…TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS strives to be polite, professional, productive, and takes pride in being one of the hardest working captains in the south. Like I’ve said through all of this mess…you have got to keep the faith!
ABOVE: Fishing with his friend Barry Baughman, Mike Selvester from Jackson, MS wanted to hook up with something big by the end of the day, and man did he ever get his wish with this big Back Bay of Biloxi black drum. Mike did a fine job on the big brute, keeping pressure on the fish, and keeping it out of the concrete pilings. The beautiful drum was safely released to fight another day. Great job Mike!
